The Highest Quality Materials |
|
Quality sunglasses means quality lenses and quality frames too. And Mako only uses the highest quality materials in the production of its frames. Mako has developed a range of frames that are strong, lightweight and, perhaps above all, comfortable to wear. Mako Metal frames are made from a high tensile nickel-copper alloy that is resistant to salt water and numerous acids. Whilst Mako plastic frames are built from a blend of tough and flexible nylons, providing a strength not found in other frames. When you choose Mako Sunglasses you can be confident the frames are made to last. |
The material used to manufacture the metal frames in the Mako sunglass range is Monel. Monel is a high tensile strength nickel-copper alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion from salt water, and various acid and alkaline solutions.
The material used to manufacture some of the injected plastic frames in the Mako sunglass range is a polyamide material made up of a blend of nylons that is durable, lightweight and flexible. It also has very low allergy properties making it an excellent choice for people sensitive to metals or harsh chemicals.
Some models are also manufactured from a material called Grilamid. Grilamid is a thermoplastic material, which is extremely strong, and almost unbreakable, very light and flexible. It is highly resistant to perspiration, alcohol based cleaning agents and cosmetics. |
